Serving More Than One Community: Leadership Through Action
Being elected to serve your community is one of the highest forms of public trust. This year, I was honored to be elected to the Pelham Board of Selectmen, marking the second time in my life I have been elected as a Select Board member in the State of New Hampshire.
What makes this milestone especially meaningful is that these elections occurred in two different New Hampshire towns during my volunteer public service journey — something achieved by only a small number of individuals over the course of municipal leadership service. Every community has its own culture, priorities, and challenges. Earning the trust of residents in multiple communities is something I take seriously and deeply appreciate.
Public service, to me, has never been about titles. It has always been about results, accountability, and building stronger communities through intentional leadership.
During my first year serving the Town of Pelham, I have worked to help move forward projects that create long-term value for residents while remaining fiscally responsible. Two initiatives I am especially proud of include:
LED Street Light Modernization Project
One of the major initiatives implemented during my time in office has been the town’s LED street light conversion project. By transitioning aging infrastructure to modern LED technology, Pelham is projected to save residents and taxpayers close to half a million dollars over the lifetime of the program through reduced energy usage, lower maintenance costs, and improved efficiency.
Beyond the financial impact, the project also improves reliability and modernizes an important part of the town’s public infrastructure.
Community Power Program
Another important accomplishment has been the rollout of a community power program designed to provide residents with more competitive electricity supply options and greater local control over energy purchasing.
Programs like this require coordination, public education, and long-term planning, but the goal is simple: help residents save money while positioning the community for a more flexible energy future.
Leadership With Intent
Municipal government involves far more than any one project. Serving as a Select Board member means helping oversee budgets, policy decisions, town operations, infrastructure planning, public safety coordination, and the many day-to-day responsibilities that keep a community functioning effectively.
I believe leadership is measured not simply by participation, but by execution. I strive to be a leader who works hard, listens carefully, approaches challenges thoughtfully, and focuses on delivering meaningful outcomes for the people I serve.
I am grateful for the opportunity to continue serving the residents of Pelham and look forward to helping move the community forward in the years ahead.
